The club meets at the clubhouse on Beldams Lane every Wednesday evening. The clubhouse opens at 7:00pm, the Chair gives notices, and runners head out at 7:15pm.
This is the session we recommend for anyone new. Everyone is welcome regardless of ability. If you can’t make a Wednesday for your first visit, get in touch.
What happens on a Wednesday
New runners are paired with a running buddy or a group at a suitable pace, and taken round one of our regular routes. Runs are 3–10 miles depending on what people are training for.
- April to August: we head out to Hatfield Forest, usually 6–9 miles.
- September to March: routes go through and around Bishop’s Stortford.
Most people are back by 9:00pm. The clubhouse has showers and a bar, and hot food is served after the run. Book food a few days ahead on myclubhouse. Most runners stay for a drink and a chat.
Our sports therapist is at the club most Wednesdays, at good rates for members.
Coached sessions
We also run coached sessions every week:
- Tuesday — arrive 7:15pm for a 7:30pm start
- Friday — track at Mark Hall Leisure Centre, Harlow, 7:00–8:00pm
- Saturday — 10:15am
See coached sessions for full details.
Swimming and cycling
Our multisport section, Stortford Tri, runs weekly swim and bike sessions that are open to all BSRC members.
